THE EUROPEAN Union’s (EU) rail industry federations have united to oppose the introduction of 25 metre so-called ‘monster trucks’ whose future are currently being debated by the European Parliament. A report published by pan-EU rail umbrella groups UIC, CER, EIM, UIRR, UNIFE and ERFA has claimed the trucks would seize business from rail freight, which generates minimal pollution, little congestion and has causes no accidents, a key concern about ‘monster trucks’.…
