HIGHER EDUCATION IN WARTIME GAZA

We offer a story exploring how Gaza’s HE is surviving amid the devastation of war? Recently, the Al-Azhar University-Gaza, Al-Aqsa University, and the Islamic University of Gaza wrote an open letter saying that their campuses may have been razed, but they continue to exist. They called their colleagues around the world to work for a sustainable and lasting ceasefire, an immediate international mobilisation to support and protect Gaza’s HE entities, and the recognition of scholasticide as a systematic war on education. Paul Cochrane, who wrote the last feature about this issue, said he should be able to talk to people he interviewed last time, except for the students, since the ones he spoke to last time are now offline, which is not a good sign.
