ROMANIA AD BAN

BY MONICA DOBIEROMANIA has passed a law banning most forms of tobacco advertising from December 31, 2006. The new law will prohibit the advertising of tobacco products in print publications, broadcast programming, films, via e-commerce, and through displays. Furthermore, the law says companies in Romania will not be able to use tobacco trademarks on non-tobacco products or services; sell sweets or toys to children that mimic tobacco products or sponsor events or activities using tobacco brands.
