Manoeuvres by the UK’s Home Office to take over the economic crime work carried out by Britain’s Serious Fraud Office's (SFO) have been rebuffed by the country’s attorney general in the House of Commons.Jeremy Wright told MPs last week (Wednesday) the SFO's "unique model" of combining investigators, lawyers and other experts was "well worth defending" after he was questioned about an alleged power grab by home secretary Theresa May.Newspaper reports had suggested ministers are considering abolishing the SFO to incorporate its most important aspects into the ...
