WORLD BANK PUMPS USD600 MILLION INTO EGYPT GAS-POWERED POWER STATION

THE WORLD Bank is lending Egypt US dollars USD600 million to help finance the construction of a 1,500MW gas-powered electricity plant at Giza North, near Cairo. The plant will be owned and operated by the Cairo Electricity Production Company, a subsidiary of Egyptian Electricity Holding Company.
