WELSH WATER EXPECTED TO SECURE EIB POUNDS 100 MILLION LOAN

WELSH Water is expected to secure GBPounds 100 million in low interest loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to help fund its GBPounds 566 million capital programme for 2005-10. The money will help finance both water supply and waste water improvement schemes in Welsh Water's catchment area. A bank memorandum said the projects would support "sustainable environmental and customer service standards" set by European and national legislation.
