MORE than GBP2 billion (USD2,5 billion) has been lost by UK victims of cryptocurrency this summer alone, new figures reveal. Action Fraud, the UK’s national fraud and cyber crime reporting centre, has warned against investing in “get rich quick schemes” in mining and trading in cryptocurrencies after a total of 203 reports of fraud were recorded in between June 1 and July 31 with the average of loss per claim of GBP10,095 (USD12,900).
