That would appear to be the message of recent collective pay award statistics released by the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, (an EU agency). Comparing pay rises in most European countries, the survey highlighted the 28 and 31.6 per cent increases negotiated for 2003 and 2002under a Romanian national sectoral agreement.
