THE EUROPEAN Commission has offered to send disease control specialists to Vietnam to help the country deal with the outbreak of Avian Influenza in chicken flocks, in response to a World Health Organisation appeal for support. Meanwhile, with millions of chickens being culled, the south-east Asian feed market is in disarray, with importers shying from placing soy-meal and corn orders.
