USDA SAYS ETHANOL HAS 43% LESS GHG THAN FOSSIL FUELS, AS TRUMP HALTS BIOFUEL USE EXPANSION

DATA released by the US department of agriculture (USDA) indicates that American ethanol releases 43% fewer greenhouse gases, (from production to consumption), than petrol made from fossil fuels. The research was published one week before President Donald Trump assumed office – he is a noted climate change sceptic. Moreover, he has halted implementation of a November (2016) regulation which would have pushed biofuel use targets higher than previously agreed through revised federal ‘renewable volume obligations’.
