USA THREATENS HIGH DUTIES ON MINERALS PRODUCTS TO COMPENSATE FOR EU AIRBUS SUBSIDIES

EUROPEAN Union (EU) industrial mineral exports to the USA could face a major threat of American tariffs because of a long-running row over EU subsidies to Airbus.
The US Trade Representative (USTR) office has released a shortlist of products that could be hit with duties of up to 100% - products named include worked slate and slate articles; certain glazed ceramic tiles; a wide range of ceramic household articles; earthenware ornaments; lead crystal and laboratory glassware; glass fibre yarns; and cement articles and building materials.
