USA LIGHTER BAN

BY KEITH NUTHALLA BAN on carrying cigarette lighters beyond security checkpoints in airports and on board civil aircraft will be imposed in the United States from April 14. This includes, for example, butane, absorbed fuel (Zippo-type), electric/battery-powered and novelty lighters. The ban has been introduced by the USA Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which said it wanted to close "a potential vulnerability in air security".
