USA-EU SECURITY GROUP

A HIGH-LEVEL group on travel industry security involving top officials and ministers from the United States and the European Union will meet twice a year, the European Commission has said, following a meeting with the US Department of Homeland Security. It claimed a relaxing of the American insistence that European airlines allow sky marshalls on trans-Atlantic flights, with US officials saying they would consider "alternative measures". The group will consider joint approaches to including biometrics in passports.
