USA CHINA EU IMPORT QUOTA CHICKEN BEEF CATTLE

BY KEITH NUTHALL THE EUROPEAN Commission has proposed opening 15 meat and livestock European Union (EU) annual import quotas for American products, including 16,665 tonnes of poultry meat. The move has been negotiated with Washington because of the EU's incorporation in 2004 of 10 eastern and southern European countries. They had their own US market access deals before becoming member states, and these must be incorporated into rules for the whole EU.
