US SCIENTISTS CREATE COLD RESISTENT BIO-FUEL

BY MONICA DOBIE AGRICULTURAL Research Service scientists in the US have developed an organic alternative to animal fat and vegetable oil bio-based lubricants that is more cost efficient and better performing than existing bio-lubricants, rivalling commercially available petroleum-based lubricants. The new lube is chemically connected with different unsaturated fats called estolides, the building blocks of high-oleic oils, such as sunflowers and canola.
