US INSTITUTE OF MEDICINE CALLS FOR MORE FDA POWERS OVER SMOKING

THE USA'S Institute of Medicine has called for the country's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be given more regulatory power over the marketing, packaging, and distribution of tobacco products in America, to curb the current smoking rate of 21%. An Institute report also recommends increasing excise taxes and more indoor smoking bans.
