THE WORLD Bank has approved a US$18.5 million-loan to Uruguay to help the important beef-producer wipe out the Foot and Mouth outbreak that has been devastating cattle herds. The money will benefit 50,000 livestock farmers as well as the livestock sector in general. More than six per cent of Uruguay's GDP and almost 20 percent its exports are related to livestock production.
