UN STRIKES BIOFUEL FEEDSTOCK DEAL

THE UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) has struck a cooperation deal with Belgium-based global crop technology company Quinvita to jointly develop the production of novel bio-energy crops in tropical regions. Quinvita has experience of promoting jatropha cultivation as a biodiesel feedstock. Such initiatives can produce renewable energy and cut poverty reduction by diversifying small farm incomes, said UNIDO.
