BY KEITH NUTHALLTHE GLOBAL demand for paper is set to surge ahead, despite the harbingers of doom who predicted that IT advances would create a paper-less world, according to the latest World Commodity Survey of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, (UNCTAD). The report said that the growth in PC's would actually promote the use of paper because of their desk-top printers, with US consumption of standard reams in 2003, expected to be twice its 1996 volume.
