Companies House, the UK company register, is to verify directors’ identities before they can be appointed, under a new transparency drive aimed at tackling fraud and money laundering. Unveiled September 18, in the government’s full response to its ‘corporate transparency and register reform’ consultation, the planned changes would give Companies House more powers to query and investigate the registration details that organisations provide, with the right to reject false information.
