The UK is lagging behind many other European Union (EU) member states when it comes to energy efficiency and is fiddling the figures to show it is making better progress than in reality, according to the latest report from the Brussels-based Coalition for Energy Savings. It assessed Britain’s official declared progress towards EU targets set under article 7 of the EU’s 2012 energy efficiency directive (EED).
