The former global head of sales at Jersey-based energy services company, Petrofac, David Lufkin, January 14 pleaded guilty at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London, to three counts of bribery to win USD3.3 billion in contracts in the United Arab Emirates. In a case brought by the UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO) as part of its ongoing investigation into Petrofac graft, British national Lufkin admitted to paying or planning approximately USD30 million in bribes to agents in Abu Dhabi to secure three contracts in 2013 and 2014.
