TUNA – THAILAND

DEMAND for fresh tuna from Kingfisher Holdings, one of Thailand's largest canned tuna exporters is set to increase, with the company predicting its revenues will double to US$400m by 2006, following a US$23m investment programme to build a 4,500-tonne cold-storage plant and a frozen food plant. The company will also brand and re-label Kingfish Tuna in three styles: tuna in brine, tuna in oil and sandwich tuna.
