BY KEITH NUTHALLTHE EUROPEAN Union's (EU) tobacco-advertising ban came into force on Sunday (July 31), prohibiting adverts in most print publications, radio and the Internet, although some countries - notably Germany - have not implemented the law. The 2003 tobacco-advertising directive would be, claimed EU health Commissioner Markos Kyprianou "one of the most effective ways of reducing smoking".
