METAL ore exploration and production companies are warning Tanzania faces a sharp decline in metal ore output as the government continues to implement stringent laws to regulate the sector.
Tensions between the state and foreign-owned companies have been rising as the government of President John Pombe Magufuli has increased surveillance on the output of mines in the country, blocking exports. Earlier this month (October) Magufuli ordered the establishment of law enforcement cordons around some mining companies to stop what he regards as “illegal” exports. ...
