TANNING COMPLEX

A GIANT leather-tanning complex is to be set up at the cost of SL Rupees 24 billion at Bata Atha, Hungama, Sri Lanka. The project is being funded by private capital and aid, including payments from Norway. A waste-water treatment plant will be installed to protect the environment. The idea is to concentrate existing tanning businesses from around the island in the complex.
