THE OPERATION of the International Sugar Organisation is expected to be extended for another two years to 2011 by agreement of its members. Forged by the International Sugar Agreement of 1992, the organisation circulates data and good practice information, while staging debates on the sector. The European Union backs this extension of its mandate while debates continue about the organisation's future.
