Students resist Colombia university liberalisation plans

University students across Colombia are in an uproar over their government's reform plans for the country's reform of higher education, which would allow universities to make profits and encourage them to forge partnerships with the private sector. The Association of Colombian University Students said, "This proposal freshly demonstrates the mercantilist interests of the government now imposed on the fundamental rights of Colombians."
