STEEL INDUSTRY WELCOMES NEW US-COLOMBIA FREE TRADE AGREEMENT

BY LEAH GERMAIN Representatives from the American steel industry have welcomed coming into force next week (on May 15) of the USA's latest free-trade agreement (FTA), agreed with Colombia. The president and CEO of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) Thomas J. Gibson, told Metal Bulletin: "AISI supported passage of the U.S.-Colombia FTA, because we believe this agreement will be good for the American steel industry and for our domestic manufacturing customers.
