STARRED PORK TO DECIDE THE LEVEL OF ANIMAL WELFARE IN DENMARK

A NEW three-level figurative optional animal welfare label for pork, to be introduced in summer 2017, will allow Danish consumers to “navigate more clearly on the issue of animal welfare” before buying products, the Danish agriculture and food council (Landbrug & Fødevarer) has said.
Its chief advisor and head of pig production Erik Kam argued: “The new labelling will try to make the level of animal welfare clearer to consumers without the use of phrases.”
