THE SRI Lankan government is preparing to impose a minimum price floor on shoe imports of US$5 per pair, say Columbo press reports. Officials are also discussing limits on the amount of shoes that can be imported into the country in personal baggage. And the government is considering requests from Sri Lankan exporters for exemptions from custom duties on imported raw materials and accessories needed by manufacturers.
