A “devastating” spike in scams as criminals exploit the Covid-19 pandemic and a related surge in online shopping, saw UK consumers conned out of GBP2.3 billion (USD3.14 billion) in a year, according to Britain’s Consumers’ Association, also known as ‘Which?’ The conclusion come from analysing crime figures from reports to Action Fraud, the country’s national reporting centre for fraud and cybercrime.
