SPAIN’S HOLIDAY COAST SEWAGE POLLUTION SPARKS ECJ RAP

THE EUROPEAN Court of Justice (ECJ) has censured the Spanish government for failing to ensure the sewage treatment systems of holiday resorts Sueca and La Ribera, in Valencia province, comply with the European Union urban waste water directive. Spain must make environmental improvements or face potentially massive recurring Euro 1,000's fines. The resorts are in the Costa del Azahar, just north of the Costa Blanca.
