Nonetheless, the industry contributes Rand 5.5 billion in excise and tax to the government exchequer, equivalent to a quarter of the nation's health care expenditure.According to industry body Tobacco SA, the country is the third largest producer on the African continent but is a relatively small producer when measured up against the likes of China, India, Brazil and neighbouring Zimbabwe. ...
