ENERGY ministers of smaller European Union (EU) member countries are worried about the potential impact the 2030 climate and energy targets proposed by the European Commission in January could have on energy-intensive industries such as minerals processing, an EU energy council meeting yesterday (Tues March 4) in Brussels revealed.The European Commission said in January that the EU should achieve a 40% greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction target by 2030 compared to the levels of 1990.
