KEITH NUTHALLA STATE aid inquiry has been launched by the European Commission, which could restrict the freedom of European Union (EU) governments to promote renewable energy through fixed price schemes. It is examining Slovenia's "preferential dispatching of electricity" scheme, which names renewable energy, combined heat and power (and one coal-fired generator) as "qualified producers".
