THE EUROPEAN Union (EU) has struck a wide-ranging textiles trade deal with Serbia & Montenegro, where the EU will immediately abolish quota restrictions on Serb exports - including non-woven materials - for a phasing out of import duties on EU exports. Serb & Montenegrin duties would be scrapped by 2008; the country's textile products already largely enter the EU duty free. Non-woven lines covered include: coated or covered nonwoven materials and nonwoven products, such as bedding, tablecloths, floorcloths, dishcloths and dusters.
