BY KEITH NUTHALLTHE EUROPEAN Union (EU) has struck a wide-ranging textiles trade deal with Serbia & Montenegro, where the EU will immediately abolish quota restrictions on Serb exports, in exchange for a phasing out of import duties on EU exports. The legislation lists a wide variety of knitted wool, cotton and synthetic fibre clothing and other products affected by the deal, which would see Serb & Montenegrin duties scrapped by 2008.
