SCOTS LAUNCH MEDICAL TEXTILE RESEARCH PROJECT

THE SCOTTISH Academy of Fashion has launched a 'Future Textiles Visions' research project developing new specialist medical textiles using smart and nano-technology. Participants include researchers from Robert Gordon University, Heriot Watt and Edinburgh universities, plus companies Interactive Materials & Design and Speckled Computing. The project has been financed by the Scottish government. An academy note said the project would explore "commercial opportunities...for technologies/materials/textiles to address medical needs?" ...
