SAQ FRAUD PUBLIC INQUIRY LAUNCH QUEBEC CANADA

THE QUÉBEC Auditor General has launched an inquiry in to the business practices of the Société des Alcools du Québec (SAQ) alcohol monopoly, responding to growing public indignation over the resignations of two vice presidents amid a price-fixing scandal.
The investigation will address:
*How the SAQ sets retail prices;
*The role of agents who represent wine and spirit suppliers in that process; and
*How SAQ practices in determining wholesale and retail prices compare with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, which usually charges lower ...
