The re-tanning and finishing joint venture produces leather primarily for export to Italian auto-maker Alfa Romeo, although negotiations are under way to strike supply deals with local manufacturers.The Eastern Cape plant is capable of processing up to 1,500 hides a day, its managing director Tony Stottelaar told just-auto.com.
