RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT TO RESTORE NATIONAL INSTITUTE BOOKS DAMAGED BY FIRE

The Russian government is considering restoring the fire-damaged library of the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INION), a major centre for research in social studies and humanities.The Russian Federal Agency of Scientific Organisations (FASO), a federal executive body, said the January 31 fire damaged about 5.42 million books, of which about 2.32 million were destroyed.
