RUSSIA WIDENS MEAT IMPORT BAN FROM WESTERN EXPORTERS

THE RUSSIAN government has expanded the range of meat and livestock imports that it is blocking from the USA and the European Union (EU) and other associated countries who have been imposing sanctions on Moscow over its annexation of the Crimea and support for Ukraine separatists. Russia’s agriculture ministry has announced that going forward the ban will cover live pigs. Russia already block such exports from the EU, over its disputed block over swine fever outbreaks, but the new move will also ban such imports from the USA, Canada, Australia, Norway, ...
