THE RUSSIAN agriculture minister Alexei Gordeyev is flying to the United States later this month (May) to secure a formal end the poultry dispute between the two countries. Russia banned US chicken imports last year over health concerns. The ban was provisionally lifted after the US imposed stricter monitoring, but Gordeyev wants Russian verification before admitting American poultry permanently.
