RUSSIA – FISSILE

THE EUROPEAN Union (EU) Council of Ministers has approved spending Euro 7.9 million over the next three years on a joint action with the Russian government, aimed at reinforcing the protection of fissile materials at the Bochvar Institute, in Moscow. The aim, said an EU Council memorandum, was to "reduce the risk of theft of nuclear material and of sabotage".
