ROTTING MEAT IN GERMANY

This follows the suicide of a Munich meat wholesaler after his business had been raided by police who found more than 60 tonnes of rotting meat awaiting delivery to purchasers in Germany and other EU countries. The merchant is alleged to have had faked "sell by" dates up to four years beyond expiry, to have refrozen defrosted meat and to have exported 90 tonnes of rotten food.
