BY MONICA DOBIEROTHMANS Inc., (Canada), has reported increased year-on-year profits of 34.6 per cent to CAN$24.1 million or CAN$0.73 per share for the second quarter which ended on September 30, compared with $17.9 million or 54 cents per share in the same period last year.The strong profit came despite a five per cent decline in cigarette sales so far this year and an increase in Canada's federal tobacco taxes.For the six month period, Rothmans reported profits of CAN$39.2 million or CAN $1.19 per share, up from CAN$35.9 million or $1.08 a share.Rothmans Inc., ...
