BUSINESS partners from different European Union (EU) countries will be able to agree in advance of forming a relationship which national law will apply in future disputes, under a reforms proposed by the European Commission. It has suggested further changes to the Rome II convention, under review since 2003. The Commission has backed the European Parliament in suggesting companies can agree to ignore the convention's rules on these disputes.
