BY KEITH NUTHALLTHE EUROPEAN Investment Bank has drawn up plans to lend Austria's SPB Industrieholding GmbH Euro 35 million to help it build a 800,000 m³ round wood saw lag capacity sawmill at Sebes in Transylvania's Alba Iulia District, Romania. The plant would produce around 470,000 m³ a year of sawn timber, mainly for construction purposes. A bank memorandum said its computer-based operations would boost "management know-how" in Romania's timber sector.
