India’s new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government plans to incentivise fresh investments in the country’s garment manufacturing sector, Giriraj Singh, India’s new textiles minister has said. Speaking during the India International Garment Fair, held in New Delhi, in June, referring to the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, he said: "We are considering covering your [garments manufacturing] sector also”.
